Preparations of the bride and groom: what are the differences?

A wedding photographer knows this well: there is a big difference between the preparations of the bride and the groom.

The important moments to capture with my camera change depending on the subject. This is why it is important to rely on a professional photographer, who knows what to shoot (or film) in order to obtain the most exciting and complete final result. Two parallel stories, two different points of view, destined to meet at the moment of the ceremony.

How the wedding photographer talks about the bride's preparations

Ladies First. So let's start by talking about how the bride's preparations take place and, even more importantly, how I have to tell them. Let's start from an assumption: this is first and foremost the bride's party. I have been working as a wedding photographer in Milan for many years, and I can guarantee you that this is almost always the case.

Not that the groom doesn't matter (on the contrary!), but it is simply necessary to invest that extra ounce of attention towards her. After all, he deserves it, just think of all the stress he has to deal with. The dress, the makeup, the looks. In short, the bride is the focus, for better or for worse. This is why it is part of my role to accompany her in every moment of the big day. It would be a shame if all those preparations were lost. Also because behind each of them lies a potentially beautiful shot.

In fact, a wedding album couldn't be complete without photographs of the bride wearing her dress and shoes. Just as it can be very sweet to show the moment when she has her hair and makeup done. They are small details, but over time they will have an enormous meaning. During the bride's preparations it is the wedding photographer's job to also immortalise the support of her closest friends and her parents. Especially the mother.

This is how those beautiful photographs are born in which the bride is helped to dress, or toasts and has fun with the bridesmaids. Then there are the bouquet, the shoes, the hanging dress, the frames and the memories present in her home, the make-up and accessories, the rings, the cat or dog where present... it's all unmissable, it's all to be photographed! The groom's preparations: now it's his turn

The advantage of having two photographers during the wedding is precisely that of being able to cover multiple elements at the same time. As in the case of the preparations of the bride and groom. In fact, he too deserves the attention of the lens. Although more discreet, the groom's preparations are equally significant and full of moments to photograph. Of course there won't be hair and makeup, but even the simple gesture of tying a tie or putting on cufflinks can create a very beautiful shot.

Also in this case, moments of interaction with relatives and friends come into play. A joke from the witnesses to the groom, a hand from the father on the shoulder, up to the mother who accompanies him to church. These are the details that make the wedding photo album a nest of memories to look at over and over again for years to come.

Your wedding photographer will help you capture unmissable moments in the preparations of the bride and groom, celebrating their importance and differences.
